About

I’m an independent IT audit, risk and control professional with 20 years’ experience helping internal audit teams deliver their plan and enhance their approach through technology.

I typically engage with audit functions where additional capacity or specialized expertise is needed—supporting areas such as IT ICFR, IT and business process risk and control reviews, and data-driven audit approaches leveraging analytics and automation.

I was trained in the Big Four, spending my first 12 years with Deloitte (Chicago) and PwC (Paris), and later 3 years with RSM (Toronto). I have operated independently through TRM Consulting since 2013.

I’m CISA-certified with deep expertise in assessing IT and process risk and controls across a broad range of systems, processes, and frameworks. Over the course of my career, I’ve executed hundreds of IT control reviews and risk assessments across the financial services (asset management), manufacturing, and public sector industries.

I bring a practical understanding of how technology risk impacts financial reporting and broader business operations.

My approach is straightforward: I operate as a senior, hands-on resource who can plug in quickly, understand the environment, and deliver high-quality work with minimal ramp-up.

Where audits require deeper technical capability, I leverage a curated network of IT audit specialists across areas such as AI, ERP platforms, cloud environments, and cybersecurity.

A bit more about me

Earlier in my career, I left Chicago and moved to Paris—leaving Deloitte, ending a long-term relationship, selling my condo and most of my possessions, and moving abroad without speaking the language or knowing a soul.

That experience shaped how I approach challenges: with a bias toward action, adaptability, and a willingness to step into unfamiliar situations and figure things out.

Outside of work, I’m a bit sports fanatical and spend most of my time with my family—my wife and our two young children—who keep things busy and grounded.

How I work

  • Hands-on execution — I roll up my sleeves, not just advise

  • Practical over theoretical — focused on what actually works in real environments

  • Low friction — minimal ramp-up, seamless integration with your team

  • Straightforward communication — clear, concise, and direct

If you’re looking for practical, delivery-focused support within your audit function, I’d welcome a conversation.
